The 5 Secrets to Successful Grant and Bid Proposal
After serving as a grant writer, proposal writer, and proposal reviewer for the past two decades, I have learned that the proposal writing process is often complex, detailed, and hard to understand. I have met with potential clients who minimize the art of professional proposal writing. I have had clients tell me they will get their cousin, uncle, child, or dog to write them a grant before they pay for professional proposal writing. Some feel that if they know a person who can write, they can automatically write professional proposals.
The truth is that although the person they know can probably write well, his or her skill does not necessarily translate to the person being able to write in accordance with the audience, rigor, and metrics that are required for complex proposals. No book can address every meticulous nuance in each of the millions of proposals written each year. This book P5: The Five Secrets to Successful Grant and Bid Proposals and ecourseis for the novice proposal writer who is interested in learning more about the paradigm needed to win proposals.
This course provides a 40,000 foot generalist view of proposal writing from two of seasoned professionals with over 50 years combined experience. Here we simplify the proposal writing process to provide five overarching concepts for effective grant and bid proposals.
